Japanese Language Courses
JAPN 2010: Intermediate Japanese
Reviewed basic intermediate vocabulary and grammar. Started at this level of Japanese in Clemson after testing out of intro course levels.
JAPN 2020: Intermediate Japanese (taken at Kansai University Online)
Completed online summer program to transfer credits back to Clemson. Reviewed writing and conversed with Japanese students
JAPN 3050/3060: Japanese Conversation and Composition
Read and wrote short passages in Japanese
JAPN 3160: Japanese for International Business
Wrote various business documents in Japanese, reviewed various business practices and practiced appropriate formal language in Japanese
JAPN 3890: Directed Reading
Independently worked through N2 Grammar textbook to review grammar points for the N2 level JLPT
JAPN 3890: Independant Study (Literature)
Reading through various Japanese texts, second half of semester focused on translation of a short story.
JAPN 4060: Japanese Literature
Read and translated various literary texts from Japanese authors
Culture and Literature Courses
JAPN 4560: Japanese Film
Discussed and wrote about various filmmaking techniques and directors from Japan. Watched several films both live-action and animation, analyzed the different ways a medium can be adapted to screen.
ANTH 2010: Intro to Anthropology
Explored various aspects of anthropology through a holistic lens.
GEOG 1030: World Regional Geography
Studied the various regions of the world in geography in both a geographical and cultural sense. Focused on various groups and environments across the major continents of the world.
JAPN 4010: Japanese Literature in Translation
Class was taught in English. Read through various translated Japanese texts from the modern day to traditional folk stories
JAPN 4170: Japanese Culture and Society
Transferred credits from Study Abroad program Clemson in Japan. Wrote an essay and gave a presentation on Japan's aging and declining population.
HIST 3300: History of Modern Japan
Going over life and history of people in Japan from late-Tokugawa Era into the modern day.
LANG 3710: Japanese Language and Culture
Examining Japanese language variations through a sociolinguistic approach. Includes topics such as politeness theory, gendered language, role-language, dialects, and multilingualism.
MUSC 2100: Music in the Western World
Reviewing musical techniques and examining music throughout major historical eras in Europe. Periods range from Middle Ages to Contemporary.
LANG 3000: Intro to Linguistics
Studied various linguistic concepts. Gave 2 presentations on aspects of Japanese linguistics.
Computer Science Minor Courses
CPSC 1060: Intro to Programming in Java
Learned basic programming skills in the Java language.
CPSC 2120: Algorithm and Data Structures
Constructed various programs using different algorithms and data structures including but not limited to linked lists, binary trees, arrays, etc.
CPSC 3720: Software Engineering
Worked in a semester-long group project to construct a website. Used the .NET framework in the C# programming language, alongside custom openapi documentation written in yaml.
CPSC 3520: Programming Systems
Reviewed language and grammar techniques in the context of programming, reviewed prolog and ocaml for projects.
CPSC 3300: Computer Systems Organization
Reviewed the internal organizations of computer systems, completed two major programming projects in C relating to cache and memory of a virtual computer system.
